July 21, 2010 FDIC ANNOUNCES DEPOSIT INSURANCE COVERAGE MADE PERMANENT 7/26/2010 JULY 21, 2010: The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act made permanent the current standard maximum deposit insurance amount (SMDIA) of $250,000.
